Praying for a Job

When I found Christian Science three years ago, I was in great financial need and had much fear about lack of work and provisions. But finding Christian Science changed everything. It had a big impact on my life, especially when I started to read the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
The first two lines of the Preface made a big impact on me: “To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings.” At that time, I really needed to find a job in order to provide for my family. One Sunday, I was looking for an opportunity in the newspaper, and I felt sad that I couldn’t find a job.
But suddenly, a quote from Science and Health came to my thought: “Divine love always has met and always will meet every human need.” And I said, “Wow, that’s beautiful.” I felt a great peace and tranquility. And then suddenly, something funny came to mind: “Wouldn’t it be great if someone knocked on the door of my home and offered me a job?”
That afternoon, I was quiet. The next day, I needed to go out, and when I came back to my home, the person who was working with me told me, “A man came this afternoon and left his information because he saw your CV, and he has a position for you.” And I said, “What?” I couldn’t believe that.
I remember another phrase Mrs. Eddy said in Science and Health, “Desire is prayer, and no loss can occur from trusting God with our desires.” The next day, I went to the interview, and I got the job, which came with a very good salary. That was one of my big demonstrations of God and His love and care, and I admire Mrs. Eddy very much for her wonderful discovery of Christian Science.
