Is Christian Science faith healing?

No. Christian Scientists believe that God is good and is Love. Healing takes place based on an understanding of the true nature of God and His creation. There is no reliance upon rituals, blind faith, human will, or the will of God for illness or death. All of God’s children are created spiritually, and as spiritual beings, they reflect life and health.
 

We believe that Jesus had an understanding of God that allowed him to heal. He saw others as God’s perfect children, made in His reflection (see the Bible, Genesis, Chapter 1). 

The Christian Science method of following God’s laws involves uplifting thought to a spiritual level to address and overcome concerns and fears. Prayer allows us to uplift thought and be receptive to divine healing

Christian Science Healing Testimonies

There are thousands of recorded healings in the Bible and in Christian Science publications.  Many Christian Science healings have occurred by simply reading the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. This healing book is Eddy’s main body of work and a companion to the Bible. It contains sections on Genesis and Revelation, and is part of the Christian Science Weekly Bible Lesson. It also includes a chapter called Fruitage, featuring healing testimonies.

You will find a lot of love and support for your spiritual journey at any of our Churches or Reading Rooms. Churches hold services twice weekly, including a healing testimony meeting on Wednesdays.

Reading rooms are open at various hours depending on the location. We love visitors and are available to answer questions and offer resources, including Bible study lessons and publications from the Christian Science Publishing Society.
