The Key to Finding Inner Peace

The Key to Finding Inner Peace

In the midst of a pivotal election—or at any time—turning to the Bible and Christian Science is the key to finding inner peace. These spiritual resources help us feel God’s presence, bringing the comfort and peace we all seek.

If what’s going on in the world seems overwhelming, you can turn confidently to God. Christian Science provides a strong spiritual foundation for understanding God’s presence and power, helping you navigate current events with inspiration and hope. Grounded in the Bible’s teachings of love and hope, it offers essential guidance for finding inner peace.

Feeling Love that is Always Present

Hereby perceive we the love of God.

I John 3:16

The joy of Christian Science is that, even in times of struggle and uncertainty, God’s love is there. You can feel His love in kind words, in joyful moments, and in the warmth you feel in showing compassion to yourself and others.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, tells us that divine Love, or God, governs each of us. As we focus on expressing love as God’s image and likeness, we start to notice more love in others around us and in the world.

Finding Good in the World and in Others

In the face of challenging national and global conflicts, it can seem as though harmful intentions are dominating and suffering is inevitable. Yet Christian Science teaches us how to see the good in the world and in others, bringing us inspiration and hope. This perspective doesn’t ignore difficulties but draws on God’s strength as Love and Spirit, revealing both God’s true nature and our own, as reflections of His goodness.

To see hope in action, explore articles in The Christian Science Monitor, an international news source founded in 1908. Mary Baker Eddy, its Founder, envisioned a publication dedicated to impartial reporting of world news for the good of humanity, free from political bias. This respected, award-winning newspaper continues to carry forward her vision:

The object of the Monitor is to injure no man, but to bless all mankind.

– Mary Baker Eddy, First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany p. 353:17

Finding Inner Strength and Courage

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
– Deuteronomy 31:6

It’s easy to feel as though we’re facing an impossible situation, especially if we lack the courage or confidence to confront major challenges. However, Christian Science offers us a way to find strength, courage, and peace. We can rely on God, knowing—as it says in Genesis—that He created us in His own image, with His qualities of strength and love.

Moral courage is requisite to meet the wrong and to proclaim the right.
– Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 327:23–24

Christian Science helps us in finding inner peace. With the omnipresence of God. there is always love to be found around us. Understanding the true nature of God—as Love, Principle, Spirit—helps us see the qualities of God reflected in ourselves and in others, helping us find hope and spiritual certainty each day.
