Healing Testimony
For years, life felt dark and hopeless for Lidya. Raised to believe in the overwhelming power of evil, she struggled with depression and despair. But the Bible verse John 8:32—“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.“—sparked a heartfelt desire in her to find real, spiritual freedom.
That search led her to Christian Science. After discovering the Christian Science Herald radio program and visiting a local church, Lidya began reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. As she explored this healing spiritual perspective, she came to understand her true identity as the loved and spiritual child of God. Everything began to change.

The Truth That Made Me Free (John 8:32)

I was raised with the belief that evil is very powerful. Everything in my life was hatred and curses, only darkness. I suffered from depression and wanted to die. Wishing to find a way out of this state of darkness and suffering, I visited different churches and started attending a Christian church, where the pastor taught the passage from John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” From that day on, I prayed to God, “Show me the truth. I want to be free.”
One day while listening to the radio, I found the radio program El Heraldo de la Ciencia Cristiana, the Christian Science Herald. I was happy to hear that God is Love, and from the Christian Science testimonies of healings, the simple and powerful truths that God is good and that I am His likeness. That made me think that healing and blessings were possible for me, too.
I looked for the nearest Christian Science church and visited one Sunday. They gave me the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy in English and Spanish. I opened the book and saw the same quote from John 8:32, and I thought, “This is the book, and this is the church that is going to make me free.”
After reading the book for three months, all the depression and suffering turned to joy by knowing that I am the beloved and blessed child of my Father-Mother God. I am so grateful to God and Mary Baker Eddy for Christian Science, and I am free!
