We can love enemies. Our differences don’t need to divide us if we’re understanding and living what the Bible calls agape love. In this talk on learning to love enemies, Giulia Tetreau presents a new way of seeing ourselves and others as never separated from God, good. She shares examples of intense feelings of hurt, anger, resentment, and fear confronted and healed.
The talk focuses on universal healing precepts found in the Holy Bible, especially in Christ Jesus’ life and teachings, showing how they are available for anyone to understand and experience through the lens of Christian Science.
“Is someone in your life hard to love?” asks Tetreau. “Loving others, including those who may feel like enemies, can sometimes feel impossible. Christian Science proves that loving your enemy is not only possible, it is natural. But what does it look like to lead with Love, instead of hate? The study of this divine Science and answering Christ Jesus’ call to ‘love your enemies’ in your life replaces anger, hurt, and injustice with forgiveness, freedom, and peace.”
Learning to love enemies is possible. Tetreau shares examples of healing from her own life and professional practice of Christian Science, she explains why Christian Science is both Christian and scientific, meaning that people can prove its effectiveness for themselves, as fully described in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by the founder of the Christian Science movement, Mary Baker Eddy.
