Embracing Change and Renewal in the New Year

Embracing Change and Renewal in the New Year

As we enter 2025, we can look for opportunities for embracing change and self-reflection. Strength gives us the courage to accept change and to turn uncertainties into opportunities, approaching the year ahead with confidence, determination, and hope.

Embracing Change
with Strength

The Bible often tells us we can rely on God to renew our strength.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

This means that when you trust and emulate God’s qualities – expressing love, principle, and reliability, – you will find new strength to face challenges. When the future feels uncertain or you are resisting change, you can gain new views by turning to the Christian Science “pastor,” the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy.

Eddy writes,

Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures p 66:14

A spiritual perspective and reliance on God can give you strength for embracing change and facing any struggles in the new year. Finding strength in God also shows us the feebleness of irrational fear and lets us approach the future with a clear head.

What the future can bring

With strength replacing fear and uncertainty, the new year becomes an exciting time for growth and change. What excites you about 2025? For us, it’s the 150th anniversary of the publication of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. People are celebrating this book worldwide, as communities come together to read, reflect on, and discuss this book that has brought peace and strength to many people. Many have begun the challenge of reading two pages a day, completing the entire book within the year.

A deeper reading of Science and Health is a great way to gain a better understanding of God and Jesus’s teachings, which can help with finding strength and facing the unknown. Eddy says,

Question. — How can I progress most rapidly in the understanding of Christian Science?
Answer. — Study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit. Adhere to the divine Principle of Christian Science and follow the behests of God, abiding steadfastly in wisdom, Truth, and Love.
