Before college\, she trained as a nurse’s aide at the Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association\, where she cared for Mary Baker Eddy’s last living student\, who affectionately nicknamed her “Chestnut.” \n\n\n\nMore recently\, she served nine years on the board of Peace Haven\, a Christian Science nursing facility in St. Louis. Chestnut holds an undergraduate degree in geology and education from Principia College and a master’s in counseling from Southern Illinois University\, both earned with highest honors.
